Students gain knowledge, skills, and comfort outdoors through a hike in the wilderness that explores the San Bernardino National Forest. They receive appropriate gear and supplies to prepare them for this 3-hour excursion. Students explore several different types of environments and are rewarded with sweeping views. Teachers can choose the focus of each hike, if desired.
What’s Covered
During this extended excursion, students venture out on Pali’s extensive trail system with an experienced instructor as their guide. Throughout their hike, students may partake in a variety of activities, including learning about the (10) essential items for backpacking, hiking etiquette & Leave No Trace, forest ecology, local plant identification, trail games and creating art out of nature.
